Privacy Policy

Privacy is the whole point. This policy explains exactly what WordEraser does and does not do with your data. We have tried to make it plain and truthful.

How WordEraser handles your keystrokes

WordEraser uses macOS Accessibility together with a CoreGraphics (CGEvent) event tap to detect the specific shortcut keys it remaps. It processes keystrokes only in memory, for the sole purpose of remapping certain key combinations (Ctrl+W, Ctrl+U, Ctrl+K, Alt+D) into delete commands.

WordEraser never logs, stores, or transmits the content of your keystrokes. Nothing you type is written to disk, sent over the network, or shared with us or any third party.

The only network calls the app makes

• Optional license validation — to confirm a license key is valid. This does not transmit your keystrokes.
• Sparkle auto-update checks — to see whether a newer version is available. These checks send only basic technical information such as the app version and your macOS version.

This website

The WordEraser website uses privacy-friendly Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not perform cross-site tracking.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full payment-card details. We receive only the information needed to deliver your license — primarily your email address and order metadata. See Stripe’s privacy policy for how they handle your payment data.

Email delivery

We send your license key by email using Resend. Your email address is used to deliver your key and respond to support requests. We do not sell your email address or use it for unrelated marketing.

Data retention

The app itself retains nothing about your activity. License keys are generated cryptographically and are not stored in a per-user database tied to your usage.
